This presentation provides an overview of recent trends in workplace serious injuries and fatalities (SIF), emerging concepts in SIF prevention from thought leaders in the occupational safety field, and a comparison of SIF response strategies from organizations in the oil & gas and manufacturing sectors, respectively.

Speaker Bio: 

Jim is a Certified Safety Professional with 34 years of combined experience in the environmental construction and oil & gas industries. He served as EHS Director at Ovintiv oil & gas for 14 years, gaining critical experience in serious injury and fatality prevention at hundreds of high hazard sites across North America. Jim holds a master’s degree in occupational health and safety management from Tulane University. He currently provides EHS consulting services and is based in Fort Collins, Colorado.
