BLS Data for Safety Professionals

Join us in-person or virtually for our May Member Meeting where Julie Percival, PhD, Regional Economist with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, will present on “BLS Data for Safety Professionals. This presentation will provide a guided walkthrough of resources available on the BLS website for the latest economic data relevant for safety professionals. In particular we will examine how to use the new Occupational Injuries and Illnesses and Fatal Injuries Profiles tool.
Learning Objective include: Navigate the BLS.gov website for important economic information. Find and use a variety of data from the BLS.gov website for safety professionals. Learn to use new tools available to find detailed demographic characteristics for injuries as well as other injury characteristics.
Presented by: Dr. Julie Percival
Dr. Julie Percival is the Regional Economist for the Dallas regional office of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. She received her PhD in Public Policy and Political Economy in 2015, and began working at BLS for the Economic Analysis and Information division in 2016. She currently supervises a team of three in answering questions from the public and conducting other events to keep the public informed about BLS data
