AIHA has two awareness campaigns that allow you to send a letter to your U.S. Senators and Representative, in less than a minute. The first campaign is “Restore NIOSH: Protect Worker Health and Safety” and the second “Support for Restoring Critical Occupational Health Programs in HHS“. NIOSH plays a vital role in safeguarding public health through research, education, and support for workplace safety initiatives. In addition to friends and colleagues impacted by these cuts, it appears that NIOSH Education Research Centers (ERCs) will likely lose funding as a result of these cuts.
Many industrial hygienists trained at an ERC and they are critical to a future IH workforce. Please contact your representatives using the links above, write your own letter, and share information about why NIOSH is critical for worker health and safety.
